Summary of fauna studies:

C. 230 bird species recorded altogether. I am presently writing (Saari et al.) a monograph on the bird fauna of the area: c. 175 00 sq. km in eastern Finnish Lapland (Kemijarvi, Pelkoserniemi, Salla and Savukaski communes). Phenology, breeding density, breeding success etc. and reviewing the older material from the 1880s onwards. A list of publications is available on request (contact P.Tunkkari; see section 4.6)
